| Ok, long story short, my computer crapped out on me about 3 weeks ago, at first i thought it was the power supply, but it tested fine, so i got a replacement motherboard, that didnt fix the problem, and the motherboard was slightly broken too. So i cracked the PSU, even though the voltages were fine, several caps had blown their tops. I replaced those, it worked (new) motherboard still didnt (and the old, working one, got ran over, long story), so i replaced the missing cap i saw on the motherboard, and it books ok, but it will not boot to windows. Right now its sitting on the bench, cpu, ram, video card, and one SATA hard drive with windows already installed. Also, this is the exact same model motherboard that its replacing, so i should just be able to set all the BIOS settings the same and itll boot, right? Its a DFI Lanparty NFII, with a Sil3112 SATA/RAID controller. Is there some non-obvious setting im missing. Heres exactly what it says on the screen after backup CMOS... ok! NVIDIA Boot Agent, PXE-2.0 (build 082 V.82) Copyright (C) 2001 NVIDIA Corporation Copyright (C) 1997-200 Intel Corporation PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable PXE-MOF: Exiting NVIDIA Boot Agent DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER I just want my computer back. ![]() | ||

Ok, that fixed the PXE errors, but its still not recognizing my hard drive. I dont get it, last time i just swapped the motherboards and everything worked the same. Here are pics of the relevant bios screens... EDIT:I was just trying to remember how it booted with the old motherboard, its not loading the RAID setup at all. At some point in the boot it would tell you to press f4 for RAID setup, and it listed 2 arrays, my raptor (OS drive, whats hooked up now) as one, and my 2 250s as the second. Its a single drive, but on it had to be loaded by the RAID utility since it was the same chip as the SATA controler. Somewhere along the booting it would show something along the lines of... Set 1 WD74 Set 2 WD250 WD250 I cant even get it to recognize the one drive as being connected. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Well, its a bit late , but i was gonna suggest just having one HDD **your OS drive** hooked up and using a Install disk , try repairing the install.booting from CD first then HDD and disabling all other boot options. Some times when switching boards the new board conflicts with the drivers and such the OS has for the old board. Then once you get just the one drive working then , you can add your raid set-up. sorry I couldnt help ya out, and sorry for your luck. | ||
