| I know, always use the fastest you can afford. But, I have a problem. The board I have supports neither DDR 333 or 333FSB, of which i have the latter. DO I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO HAVE DDR 333 to run this processor? I can't OC the board to it, even though it says there's support-it won't post. My uncle says just give him the barton, take his palomino, and be happy. I say I paid for a 2500 barton and I want a 2500 barton, not my super 1700 wannabe. So what do you guys think? I'll trade my 512 of DDR 2100 for some 2700 or whatever. I just want to get this thing running. nForce 2 boards would also be accepted, as would KT333/400 if they support 333 FSB. If you have info, or parts, or just a shoulder to cry on, please, do something. Help me, fellow pimps... | ||

| On that motherboard, a FSB or DRAM speed of over 266MHz without overclocking is not possible, you can run your FSB and DRAM at differant speeds but most say if it isnt sync, it isnt good. If you want 333MHz you should get a motherboard that supports both DRAM and FSB of 333MHz and run them sync on that. ![]() 266MHz isnt so bad...ok it is, your holding back the lion on a leash... ![]() | ||

| i would say the easiest but not the cheapest way to solve your problem is to get a new motherboard and my suggestion for that is NF7-S rev. 2.0 IMHO and you can run your barton and your ram at different speeds till you get 2700 ram i had a athlon 1GHz and had 2700 ram with it it worked with the NF7-S theres a setting in the bios to set ram and processor speed to run asyncronosly obviously you dont see proper speed from the barton till you upgrade the ram but hey one step at a time | ||
