Default 2x 256 vs. 1x 512 vs. new monitor

I have some cash to throw around and id like to know what would be a better choice to get, i can get one strip of 512 pc3200 for $120, or i can get 2 strips of 256 pc3200 for $120....which would be better?? both cas2 both kingston.
would using the duel mem capabilties be worth just getting the 2x 256?? or should i just go with the 1x 512???
somethign else....or instead of buying the mem i can get a 21" monitor????
whats better with the mem and should i just get the monitor?

EDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: ok what i ment was PC3500!!! not 3200!!, ack my mistake i just was thinking in a different frame of mind!!

For that money you can get a matched pair of Geil PC3500. Which would be a slightly better than a single stick on a nforce board. Or an unmatched pair of Corsair PC3500 from Outpost.com for the same price. But a 21" monitor would be sweet.

Or you could replace that sh!T a$$ psu.

ya i agree get the psu if your having instablity problems then getting ram befor your power your still gonna be stuck with that instability it will only be more casue the extra ram will put that much more pressure on the PSU(sides you can pick up an enermax 450W PSU for a very decent price nowadays

WDog, usually 256 sticks OC better than 512 sticks. Not always mind you, but usually.

I would get the 2x 256 so that you can take advantage of the dual channel memopry feature on ur mobo.

A monitor is nothing to skimp on, cheep ones are blurry and have other problems, I vote for the ram and save up a bit more for the monitor later.
