| Hey BRO welcome. WeÂ’ve never formally introduced. As a system builder of high performance game machines your problem was noticeable by reading a diff thread. Quote here: Yep, I finally finished it-my new rig is actually running!!! I've just got one problem-I've got a Barton, and I'm board limited to 266 FSB! I now have the world's most advanced 1700. 640 on die cache 1700, with two extra steps in the pipeline. Man, what a bummer. And, no ETA on a new board... Well, at least I got my spare DIMM to work, so I'm up to 512 PC2100 , on the world's most advanced 1700. Yes, I'm hung up on it. But, it's a #$&# of a lot better than the old hamster that I ran before this, and it beats the #$^% out of my little bro's Athlon 1GHz. Notice the bold letters. Not to belittle but the Barton requires a minimum of 166FSB or DDR333. YouÂ’re running DDR266 or PC2100. Hence your biggest reason for not being able to post. Your memory needs a major upgrade to at least PC2700. I would suggest picking up a fat stick of XMS3500 though for Uber extreme or budget wise you can get a PC3200 stick of crucial or Kingston for less then a $100 bucks. That should solve that issue. And whoever told you NFORCE2. ThatÂ’s the best thing you can do to ANY AMD chip. Nforce 2 is far superior to any KT400 Solution right now. Especially if you run dual channel DDR. I am running a Barton 2500 on an ABIT NF7S with the dual channel XMS3500 platinum by Corsair. As well as the Sata Drives in raid. This is the fastest thing IÂ’ve ever owned. And utilizing the bad ass onboard audio in the S version of this chip. I was easily able to get 215MHZ FSB with very little voltage upping. IÂ’m sure I could get farther if I tried. But just crossing 200 was a miracle. I remember many KT400 solutions I have that would barely do 175. Change the memory first man. But if youÂ’re loaded get a new board too. Get the Abit NF7 or the EPox 8rda. ThatÂ’s my two cents anyways. DW | ||

| Gotta sell a system to get that kind of schwag... Thanks for the info. My uncle, who builds computers but hates all things overclocking, just says sell him the processor, drop down to a 1700 palomino that he's got, and leave it alone. I say there's an Apogee with my name on it. And a dual channel set of PC 3200. It's too bad we haven't spoken before. We should remedy that in the future. | ||

| Well Bro I took the liberty to shop around my vendors. If you search hard. Mwave has some parts you need at super prices!!! I have a reseller account with these people. As long as your credit card billing addy matches the shipping location your good. Their prices are more then fair. You can get the EPOX 8RDA here for $76 buck assuming you have a nic. If not get the plus version for a tad more. This is the fastest board by far when it comes to overclock potential versus money spent. There are slightly better boards but bang for the buck this is it!!! CLICK HERE Also you can get that CORSAIR TWINX512-3200LL (512MB Matched Pair of 400MHZ Corsair) for a mere $167 Bucks. Click Here Thats less then the price of a high end video card!!! and this is the **** that will make that Barton beg for forgiveness!!!! Hope that helps! DW | ||
