won't boot from HDD

I put together my new system, configured the bios, I installed the firt part of WIN XP pro, after that was done I was supposed to reboot from the HDD, so I select the HDD as "booting device" but before booting from the HDD ( that's the part when you get the little chart that tells you some of the computer components ram etc), the monitor goes on standby, and then it tunrs on again but after it rebooted itself. My HDD is my primary master, the CD-rom primary slave, so that should be good. I tried fixing that thing until 3am, damn it. The mobo is an MSI 865PE Neo2 LS, BIOS version 3.31a. Any one have any ideas of why it reboots itself PLEASE HELP

I'm the happyest guy in the world. I went into Winxp setup, deleted the partition, formated the hdd and reinstalled WIN and it WORKED

I did the slow format, and I deleted the partition

I think you should stick your cd drive on the secondary IDE bus. Give better performance/less chance of making coasters
