Does anybody know where i can still get one of these? I cant find them anywhere, $olid or anybody have a stockpile? Price is no object.

My comp died the other day, crashed and it wouldnt restart. Same deal it always does, i tried rebooting without anything hooked up, and then add something, reboot, repeat untill i was back up, that always worked before. But this time, that didnt work, ive tried swapping everything, RAM, PSU, Video card, all my motherboard connectors (USB, firewire etc) are disconnected because we figured it might be a short somewhere. I tested my PSU and that checked out fine too. Itll boot, show the bios screen and then freeze, with LEDs 3 and 4 lit. I really dont know what to do at this point. Can anybody give me a reason it wouldnt be the motherboard at this point?

The reason i hope its not, i have about 400GB of data in a RAID0 array. Im assuming that it'll only work with the same board, or would it be possible for it to work wih any board that had the same model RAID controller?

This sucks, its my only computer, i cant use the computers down here in the lab for more than 5 minutes wihout getting a migraine because the refresh rate on the monitors is set to 60hz and i cant change it, not only that, im completly cut off because my cell phone charger is at home (im at uni), and i cant charge my cell phone without my computer (Moto RAZR, charges from USB, but you need the software installed).

Im so frustrated, does anyone else have anything i can try?

Newegg only has 17 models of socket A boards left and theyre all PC Chips and Biostar. There are 3 on ebay, so i guess ill go for that. Can anybody confirm my hypothesis that this is definitly a motherboard problem and not anything else? Does anybody know what the hell the LED codes mean, i dont have the manual for it here and i cant find em anywhere.

Been there, done that, that manual does not contain the LED codes, IIRC a big foldout glossy had them maybe. I spent an hour looking for the codes on google last nite.

If i cant get my hands on the board, would my RAID still work as long as the board still uses the same RAID controller?

EDIT: And i tested the CPU last nigt, so its not that. I also dused off the back side of the board, no change..

Does anybody have another source for these? I got outbit at the last minute on the first two on ebay, and the last one ends in three hourse, and knowing my luck this week, ill get outbit. Ontop of all this crap, i got a letter from the bank saying that there was some security breach with somebody and my check card is canceled and a new one will be issued in 7-10 days, so ive gotta call the parentals and get their CC# so i can pay for the damn thing, assuming i win. Ahhhhh, nothing is going right this week. I'm gonna get ****ing pickled on st pattys day...

Yay, i won. Linky. Now i just hope it comes on thursday and not friday, since i plan to be extreemly inebreated starting at 0800 on friday and im not gonna mess with my computer while drunk. Learned my lesson after i woke up on my floor in a pile of CDs and manuals, aparantly id tried to reinstall my sound drivers when my speakers were turned all the way down...

Ok, long story short, fixed my power supply, board i got off ebay was bad. Im looking for another one. None on ebay, anybody else know where i could get one?

as long as you have a nforce2 NB ans a matching raid controller then it will work and boot. so anything NF2 and Sil3114 will work, you are just going to have to set it up for raid, but dont rebuild the array, just move the drives...

well... why not just get a motherboard that has a Marvell 88i8030 raid chipset in it like... grr never mind... th only other mb's that have that chipset are p4 abit mbs...

That would work for sure? I was unsure if this would work or not, so ive been concentrating on finding the exact same model, but i figured it might still work as long as they have the same SATA controller. If thats the case, does anybody know where i can find a Socket A 400mhz FSB NFII motherboard with at least 4 SATA ports and a Sil3114 SATA controler?!? You can see my complete system specs in my sig, thats all i need it to support. Really all i care about is the data in my RAID, because it would be a pain in the ass to get it all again and i dont have all of it backed up.

LOL, yeah...The listings from a year ago though, and i put down an offer, PMd and e-mailed the guy, but he hasnt responded. I also messaged the guy on ebay who sold me the DOA board, but havnt heard anything back from him. Sounds like you were looking at everything i was though, places still list it, but dont have any stock.

Only 2 SATA ports, i've got a raptor for my system drive and then the two SATA Caviars in RAID0. Also the guy on hardfind emailed me back, i guess he sold it on another site a while ago. Goddamnit. I really cant afford to scrap half my stuff just to get a working computer again.

EDIT:And the guy on ebay hasnt messaged me back... i sent him a very polite message, but its been 3 days and he hasnt responded.

well if you just want the data, then do an install to the raid then get a working system running then transfer the data off....
