| Apex Techie Wannabe | Today I tried to start up my computer and it ran fine for about two seconds. After those two seconds, my CPU fan just stopped spinning. So I'm wondering if I just wired something wrong or if it is supposed to do that. Oh, my cousin wants me to install an operating system on it, but I'm scared that while I'm installing it my CPU will be fried. Here is the stuff I am using. DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D ATX AMD Motherboard AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 1GHz HT Socket 939 Processor | |

| Well i also have the Ultra-D and for some OD reason the chipset and two of the case fans that i have ran to the board will just STOP! out of the clear blue! I go into the bios and the temp reads -200c i dont know what the heck is up with these boards! But are you running quite and cool? And there is a thing in your bios, Under pc health Cpu fan start and stop, It will only come on if the temps are what you put it at... So if you put it at 44c If your temp is under 44c the fan will shut off! Play around with that... 95% thats your problem! Matt | ||

| have either of you looked into a bios update? and if there is no bios update... dont hook the fan to the mb... hook it to a 3pin to 4 pin adapter and connect it to the power supply... dont use the system untill you do this... when your cpu fan turns off you run the posibity of frying your cpu | ||
