What RAM...?

I have some questions, iam buying a new system..DFI lanparty Ultra D, a 3000+amd Venice , and a 7800GT XFX....what ram can i run on this board is it limited to 400 ?....Hmmm....yah iam a noob still....lol...and thanks for your help on this matter.....B.J.

Well, you can review what other members are running...............see what your budget is and whether or not your going to overclock and how far.......

The limitation for stock speeds on the newest AMD64's is DDR500. All you need to allow it is to update your BIOS on the Ultra D.

You can run the RAM speed as high as the RAM will allow, though, if you decide to overclock it.

If you are going to get 2x1gig sticks go with that GSkill that i showed you and YES it WILL do DDR500 @ 2.5-3-2-0!! Your ram can only run as fast as your cpu! So even if you buy ddr 500 or 550 whatever! and you dont overclock your cpu its still going to run at ddr 400 witch is 200Mhz! Just like the ext clock on your cpu!! So IF you run your ext clock on the cpu at 250 and run ddr 500 it will run a 1:1 ratio! Go with the Gskill!!
