| Glad I'm stuck in my old fashioned ways of flashing from a floppy. Bios savior won't help if it's not already programmed. Highspeedpc and pcmods both sell them, but the only place I know that sells them preprogrammed is overseas. http://www.eksitdata.com/_uk/index.asp Abit also sells a new bios chip preprogrammed for a reasonable price. 12 bucks plus shipping. http://www.excaliberpc.com/default1....ort=1a&&page=5 Easier and faster (and probably cheaper) than a RMA i.m.h.o. I can recommend the bios savior though. I haven't needed it with this board, but it's nice to know I can't screw up a flash so bad I can't recover. | ||

| n00b? Did you just call me a n00b? I had a bios die in my Asus nforce simply from saving a new set-up. Is that what you mean by a n00b mistake? Silly n00b me, I pressed f10...doh. I wish I would have had a bios savior then, it would have saved me a week of down time. And what part of Bob's flashing a bios with a Abit utility designed to do so would you consider a n00b mistake?I guess all the mobo manufacturers that sell dual bios systems are targeting the n00b market. Or is it n00bish to recommend a product designed to recover from a bad flash for a chipset known for it's bios problems? And something that allows you to go back to a previous bios without reflashing? If it is....I'm a n00b. | ||

| AntiM, I guess I'm a n00b also. Even though I have never lost a board to a bad flash, I feel better that the one that I just purchased has a dual bios. It's nice to know you have a backup in case anything ever goes wrong. Good example is I used to feel secure running raid without mirroring, until one of the HDD decided to take a dump. | ||

| Yep... it will work. http://www.excaliberpc.com/product_i...oducts_id=1818 About halfway down the page. "Will be pre-programmed with the latest code." You can also reflash the old chip. Boot into dos with your start-up disk with awdflash and the bios image on it. Then pull out the new chip and put in the old and flash it. If you're uncomfortable pulling a chip on a running board you can send it to Badflash.com and they will flash it for you. Then you'd have a back-up in case of future problems. | ||

| DOH! AntiM, beat me to the punch, again! You will probably want to invest a little dough in a proper BIOS chip removal tool too. That will help prevent you damaging the chip while removing it. After this procedure is done, you might consider getting the BIOS Savior. | ||

| I dont remember if ive been called a n00b before..things usually dont bug me, unlike b-boy and mot19.. and fu3l, but in a good way, god I hate you fu3l... Bah, a small flat head screw driver works fine. Just dont go and poke yer eye out. See? Told you so. now you need an eye patch. | ||

No ****! WTF is up with that Threat? I don't care if your black that word is not cool and you need to fix that. And if your not black then you really need some foot to ass recesitation. That may be a definition to describe yourself but you don't need to subject others to that ****. ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Seriously-racist remarks are welcome nowhere. Glad to have your knowledge, but those comments gotta stay home. I'm not black, but I'm Native American, and I've been called all kinds of things all my life. I kinda get up in arms about things like this because I know what it feels like to have them aimed at me. Even though I know you didn't point the word at anyone, I feel some things are just inappropriate in public-be it forums, or anywhere else. | ||
