Default MoBo wont recognize cpu's GHz ??

I'm wondering if anyone here has had any experience with the ASUS A7M266-D Motherboard, and if they know how to get it to recognize CPU's over 1900+ . I've flashed the bios with the latest version "1011.003" and it still olny see's the cpu's as 2000+'s. The CPU's im using are a matched pair of Athlon MP 2700+'s.

Any help would be welcome

First off , sorry for the double post, but i want this to be seen by folks.......... I've done alot of forum searchin' and it appears that these board can support dual 2800+MP cpu's , but i havent seen a single post about 2700+'s , is it possible to support the first and not the later cpu meaning supports the 2800+ but not the 2700+ ???

Did you say 2700+ MP? Dont you mean 2700+ XP/MP? Are they modded to MP? It looks like the mobo is limiting you to that speed.

Did you come across this in your search?:

Or this?:

AFAIK, The only way you can have a 2700+MP is to mod an XP. Or buy a 2700+ XP/MP. The latter is what Im assuming you mean At least, I couldnt find a "2700+ MP" in a single search that I made.

BTW, Happy B-day

#1 Thank K, for the idea of me checkin these chips +rep to you Bro

#2 - im kinda bummed / pissed at my Son-in-Law now , as he was the one that told me they were 2700+MP's , and after i pulled the heatsinks off and cleaned the cpu's LOW & BEHOLD these are 2000+MP cpu's . I called my son and bitched at him a bit, but oh well , its still a 2x 1.68GHz rig sportin 1 1/2 gb of RAm so, im still happy with it.

Side note = ALWAYS clean the cpu BEFORE you try and read the numbers on them . My Son failed to do that and so miss read the ID number on the chip.
