Default Bad CPU

What are signs of a bad CPU? I been having issuses with my custom build PC. So far I switched out everything but my CPU. Microsoft and Asus don't even know what my problem is after talking to them on the phone for hours. Im running a AMD 64 3800, ASUS A8n-SLI deluxe, 1 gig of kingston Value ram, two evga 6800 GT's, ANTEC true power II 550 watt PS(nvidia certified) i switched out every piece but my CPU, whipped and reinstalled windows plenty of times, flashed bios, got the most updated drivers from asus. What is happening is I can't install my chipset drivers, when i do. windows won't boot, and then i get a blue screeen error.

If the CPU is bad, it ususally won't boot period, or if it does, it may crash often.

Have you tried other types of chipset drivers?

Try a newer or older version.

You could try the chipset drivers from nvidia instead of asus.

The driver will update the ide & sata controllers also. Have you tried different drive's. You can also try disabling your onboard sound, usb and so on.
