Default problem. 90% sure it's motherboard

Alright I think i have a problem with a motherboard and i belive its the motherboard. Here is the problem i turn the computer on and nothing comes up (not even bios) and my hard drive shuts down when i have it hooked up to motherboard. It works on my other computer but when i plug it to this motherboard it shuts off.
I've got power going to motherboard. I can't figure it out thou maybe the drivers. Also the guy that had it before me said his son took the thing apart (processor and everything). Do i need to get bios reinstalled?

Sounds like the mobo is bad to me. You can't reinstall the Bios if the computer won't boot.

I would check the processor and ram first. Make sure the heatsink is properly installed, and is cooling the CPU good.

Swap the CPU, try the machine. Then try swapping the ram. If it still doesn't work after that... then it's most likely the mobo.

My computer was doing the same thing when I swapped out my Antec PSU for a Thermaltake modular one. Turns out the 20/24pin connector wasn't seated correctly on the PSU side. Check to make sure the motherboard main power plug is in, and also make sure the 4 pin power one is on as well (it's usually in a different place).

Check to see if the CPU is in all the way. I had a similar problem and it was cause the CPU needed to go down another half mm.
