Default DFI NF4 Question.

So I am building my new machine and It wont boot everything is hooked up. I think I know what the problem is. Do I need to hook up that ATX 12v 4 pin connector on the board if I am using a ATX 24pin connector? I think I just need something like this because my psu doesnt have one.

Thanks for your time and input.

thats what i did for my sisters computer----i had a very old antec layin around, but since it was 300 watts--i figured i could just splice one in. and yes--that computer would not boot without that plug. i believe that plug is power for the processor. so---i can understand why it wouldnt boot without it.

Yea well I hooked it up to a psu that had the connector and still no go. I emailed monarch about a replacement. I got the combo from there and they say they tested it but I think they tested it wit a different CPU and never updated the bios.

What processor are you using? Ive used every bios that is made for the lanparty nf 4 ultra d mobo in the last two weeks....long story. Needless to say every bios that they have will boot, windows will just crap out. I did have a problem where my video card would not seat all of the way due to the northbridge fan. Try moving your card to the second pci-e slot and make sure everything is hooked up properly. Scan through your manual and check that everything on the mobo is in the position for booting (i.e. directly out of box)

Also most vid cards come with 2 vga slots on the back so try switching to the other one if it still doesnt boot after swapping to the #2 pci-e slot. Hope this helps.
