Default Gigabyte/A64 Blunder

Here's the scoop:

My computer starts up and runs fine without any problems. Yesterday when I turned it on, the post screen had the following:

Main Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3000+

Memory Test:-----------KB ok

The dashes are for my memory because I can't read the number fast enough. It (memory) tests out to be fine. Anyways, I checked to following to see if there were problems:

-Device Managaer says no problems with any hardware
-All drivers are most current and up to date for all hardware
-Under Control Panel, System, General tab, the compuer specs are listed at the lower right corner. Mine now says "512 MB of Ram, Physical Address Extension" when it should say "512 MB of RAM, AMD 3000+ 1.81 GHz"
-One short beep on start up from BIOS, which means system start successful.

Also noted is that my processor temperature when started is 28 degrees C instead of its usual 25 degrees C.

To try to fix whatever this may be caused by, I have uninstalled and reinstalled my Audigy Gamer sound card (installed before this problem), tried System Restore to a previous known point, checked Device Manager for problems, checked drivers, made sure all plugs on the inside of the case are plugged in securely, checked and cleaned all fans for airflow issues, and most importantly checked for similar problems already posted here on Pimprig.

Keep in mind that my system was built in early March and has been running nearly 12 hours a day since then. Only problems so far were old drivers that needed updating. Processor was overclocked for a short period while I was playing Doom 3 & its expansion, and I haven't done it much since. GTA:SA didn't run any better on my overclock, so I didn't use it.

The only cause that I can think of it the 32 bit operating system on a 64 bit processor, unless I'm over looking something.

System Specs:

Windows XP Home w/ SP 2
Gigabyte GA-K8N-9
AMD A64 3000+ Socket 939
512 MB Cosair XMS DDR 400 PC3200
Gigabyte Nvidia 6200 PCIe 16x
500 Watt Ultra XConnect P.S.
Seagate 80 Gig IDE H.D.D.

Thanks in advance for anyone who contributes to the solution of my problem. Hopefully somewhere in the future I can return the favor.
