Default Possible mobo fry?

I just got this mobo today.. its a Gigabyte 7VT600P-RZ. it seems like the power supply just shocks my system when i seem to turn it on. either that or my pins were wrong when i was placing them in. my fans just twitch and my LED light on my side mounted fans also just blink for a second then turn off. is this a possible motherboard fry? or BIOS problem? or maybe because i dont have a hard drive or VGA in ?

Depends where you connected it to. If you connected it to the restart or sleep pins then I don't think so and what you say happened makes me think you connected it to the restart pins instead of the power on. Read the manual carefully and re-connect exactly as it tells you.

Then you'll know if it's fubar'd. Good luck

I agree with Traffic. Look at your manual for correct placement of the jumpers. Also some more detailed system specs would be appreciated. Such as, but not limited to; CPU, Graphics card, Power supply, and anything that could have a short in it. Make sure your system speaker is hooked up so you can get any beep codes.

Doesn't have to be that long. Unplug it and pull the battery out and maybe 2 minutes at the most put it back in and that'll clear the bios.

You have grounded the montherboard with standoffs if its in a case right? If its not in a case, make sure its on something at does not conduct electricty unless its just touched the area thats metal where the screws go.

This in the past has caused issues with my older boards. They power just runs through the board and then comes back to shock the board or something. I can't even tell you why, but that has caused it not to work for me in the past.

Its also something overlooked.

P.S Try to lissen to Godfoots advice and post some more specs. Maybe a picture or two. Any details you can possibly think of. Remember, the more you help us the more we can help you.

So I was right!

I told you its sometimes overlooked...

Sweet...always cool to get things right sometimes. Also next time there is no point in making a new thread. A simple bump for the older one is better.

Funny, because that was my initial suspicion as well as I had that happen on a Syntax mobo. fans would spin for a split second then shut right back off.

I just luv it when you ask the person to check connections and such, he says "I checked those and their fine".............then come to find out that it was a connection or a grounding issue.......

Fair play to the guy though, he let us know the problem and Spikeshot was right on.

That's what PR is all about, he won't make that mistake again and he moves in the right direction away from noobdom!

Nice one on sorting the problem Ruigie!
