Default Computer won't boot

Ok, here's the situation at hand. My old MSI X-800 PRO power went to hell, so I got a new VisionTek X-850 XT PE. I'm running a DFI Lanparty UT N3 250, 500W Ultra-X PSU, 3400+, 2GB OCZ PC3200.

Now for the current problem...
I put the new video card in, reconnected everything, powered up, and now I'm getting a neverending repeating beep.

Troubleshooting steps taken:

Tried alternate mobo (Asus K8N-E Deluxe)
Tried alternate RAM in both mobos
Tried alternate PSU
Tried only connection essential devices in all steps above
Tried without any RAM (beep changes to indicate no RAM)
Tried without video card (beep changes to indicate no Video card)

I'm running out of ideas. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to know what the beep codes mean, go to www.bioscentral.com and look up the particular BIOS you have. If I am not mistaken, the endless loop single beeps mean improperly seeted or bad RAM.
If it is repeating high pitch, low pitch beeps then either the CPU is not seated properly or the CPU is damaged. May also be due to excess heat. Check the CPU fan or BIOS settings for proper fan speed.

According to the site, it says that my PSU is bad... This is not so as I have tested with 3 other PSU that are known to be good. Also, my system is water-cooled. Heat is not an issue with this system. As I mentioned in my previous post, I also checked with multiple sticks of RAM all known to be good.

What kind of RAM have you tried and have you tried putting the RAM into different slots?
The reason I ask is because some mobos (not sure about yours) require certain slots if you are using dual-channel RAM versus single-channel.

The original RAM that I had in my system is 2x 1GB OCZ PC-3200. I tried the sticks seperate and in all three slots. I also tried some Kingmax PC-2700 using the same method of testing. I know for a fact that the Kingmax and OCZ RAM are good since I have tested them both in the machine I am currently on. This problem has absolutely driven me nuts.

Well, since you tried new mobo, RAM and PSU, the only thing it seems is to try another vid card (since you said you tried without card but not another). If another vid card works, therein lies your problem. If not, I guess I would be stumped too.
Maybe try going into BIOS (if you can get that far) and make sure all settings are set back to default.

I had tried clearing the CMOS on both boards with no luck. I was just able to get a picture on my monitor that stated that the power cord was not connected to the video card. Before anyone states the obvious... the power cord IS connected to the video card AND to the PSU. I just put in a call to VisionTek and am awaiting a callback.

Just my luck... I got this card because my last card (MSI X-800 PRO) displayed the same error after a few months of use (but never sounded a beep code). Now I'm without a video card yet again... this is getting so irritating its not even funny.

Well if it is indeed the vid card, I have an old one you can have for just the cost of shipping. Nothing special and certainly won't run any current games (32mb card I believe), but it will allow you to surf if nothing else.

Edit: can you try another connector to the vid card or maybe testing that connector with a multimeter?

Try taking 1 component out at a time. If it still beeps put it bad and try another. Keep this up till you've went thru drives and all. If after everything it still doesn't work then you need to remove 1 component at a time and leave it out until it works. The last item out is bad but something else probably is to. So you need to start replacing 1 item at a time until it beeps. That item will also be bad. Do this until you've checked everything as 1,2,3 or more component's can sometimes burn out with the Domino effect (rare but still a possibility).

I got ahold of VisionTek TekSupport and they have claimed responsibility in thier card. They informed me that there is a series of faulty connections in the power molex on the video card for the entire X800/850 series. With this being the case, I am now awaiting a call back from the return department. In regards to the part removal and testing that Slay suggested... I had tried that first and foremost. And thank you for your offer godfoot, but luckily we still have 4 other backup systems in the house for me to use... no major gaming, but at least I can check mail and forums.

Cool, at least you know where the problem lies now. If they are having problems with ALL of their cards I would suggest a different manufacturer or maybe an nVidia card like the 6800 GT or something.
Of course, if you go to nVidia make sure to download and run driver cleaner.

Glad you got it resolved, more or less. Hate to about people doing without or even the possibility. That's probably why I seldom read the newspaper.

As I mentioned earlier, godfoot... my previous card was an MSI... the new card is a VisionTek. According to several other forums, it seems as if the entire line of X800 and X850s have this faulty connection no matter which brand name is on it.

I realise your first card was an MSI, hence the nVidia suggestion, lol.
Good luck whichever route you take.

I have a PowerColor X800XT and I have no such problem. It was probably a limited number of cards from one of several manufacturing plant's. Or it's just one of the problems all the plants have on Monday's and Friday's. I still think every "Product" made on a Monday or Friday should all be stamped or labeled as such. I'm sure we'd see a pattern.

I think you may be on to something there, Slay. In regards to the nVidia suggestion. If the next X-850 XT PE is D.O.A., then I'll just request a full refund and get a 6800Ultra from the Egg.

Just a suggestion, but did you try using a different monitor as well? Sometimes they go bad, or the cables get breaks in them.
