Default P.O.S Asus

This Asus a7n8x-e Deluxe has given me nothing but problems, 3 RMAs on the bastard, and now its wiggin' out again.

I will just be sitting here playing a game, or surfing the net, or not even at my computer, and my motherboard has those voice alert things, instead of speaker beeps, it goes over the speakers, and it says "System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test.""System failed CPU test."

you get the point, right?

the first time it freaked me out, and i got all worried and stuff, so i rebooted my computer and it didnt do it, sweet. but then 10 seconds later, "System failed CPU test.". but it only did it once, then again, "System failed CPU test."

anyone know whats up? my CPU is FINE. i tested 2 other CPUs and it did the same damn thing, and i stuck this one in a different board.

my current rig =
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
XFX Nvidia 6600 GT
1024mb Corsair PC3200
AMD XP 2200+ T-Bred
2 WD HDDs 30 gig + 40 gig
Sony DVD-RW - + DL

OR anyone at least know how to shut off the voice notification crap?

First of all, turn off that voice alarm crap. Sounds like its making you pretty hot. I had the non-deluxe version of that board and let me tell ya...its extremely picky about ram...especially Corsair. Try this BIOS. It will fix your problem most likely. USE THAT BIOS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! ONLY YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR HARDWARE!!! It is a "modded" BIOS, The "CPC on" version seems to be a winner. I used the non-deluxe version of that bios and it worked great.

Hmmmm.....I wonder if its just an ASUS problem? Mine did the same thing that his is doing and that BIOS took care of it. S****y ASUS! Nothing but headaches IMO.

Well its worth a try dont you think? I mean if your just going to break it, you might as well flash that BIOS.

Yeah, might as well. I dunno if it is broken though, it just says that, it runs perfect even while it is saying that.

I might just get a new mobo and CPU, i need a new CPU anyway, and this mobo gets on my nerves too.

You ALMOST have a deal, i'll sell it

im thinking about going ahead and going AMD 64.

SOO, here comes another question, which mobo would be my best bet?
I found a MSI K8N NEO2 PLATINUM Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

but someone was telling me the nForce3 won't work with my AGP 6600 GT, is this true?
Im looking to buy a new mobo and CPU for under about 220, so if anyone can help me get the best out of it, let me know. THX.

Yes it can. It can support an X/850 AGP card, PC-6000 ram and all the goodies. Grant you will need a like a 2.4 C or a 2.6 C to take advantage of PC-6000 ram and what not as you need to overclock the living out of the front side bus. O good times I used to have with my Abit Max 3, one of the greatest mobos I ever used.

Linky to a dam good review on it by the pimp of all pimps.
