This one really has me agravated!

Motherboard is Biostar M7NCD.

I can't see any network port... either I missed something completely, or... wtf.
drivers are freshly installed.

Any help? please?

Look at the port and make sure the leads aren't crossed. It happened with my A7N8X-E Dlx.

Can someone please run me through looking to see if its there or not? I think I may have missed something, but I have no clue at all... *hits self*

So are you talking about physically there, or its just not showing up in dev manager.

Make sure it's enabled in the BIOS. I always disable serial, parallell and other stuff I don't use and have occasionally accidentaly turned stuff off.

yeah, i think Spectrum nailed it, a device that physically exists yet is disabled in the bios will appear as though it doesent exist in windows....

just enter the bios and enable it in the "onboard devices" or "integrated peripherals" or something similar in description...

if it is enabled and still isnt being detected by windows, thats a problem....

Well, just as a bit more entertainment for anyone that has clicked on this thread....

I wake up today, go out cut the grass.... edventually come back and turn my computer on. Up pops a thing saying that the computer has changed too much (I only added a TV Tuner) and I need to reactivate windows, up I try to activate online and it tells me that I ran out of times I can activate. That tends to piss one off, Its a legit copy, installed on one machine, that I paid 90 dollars for, and I can't really afford to replace it.

So I call their activation line, as prompted to do so if i thought the message was an error.
after reading off a line of digits to an annoying computer, It was unable to validate. I get transfered to an actual human, a real life, hurts if you burn them, HUMAN! I was amazed.... Until I find that I can bearly understand her, and that I manage to figure that their systems are down, and will not be able to activate my product.

Gota love microsoft, they have the BEST ideas ever, especially the whole product activation thing. Make one wonder if windows vista (longhorn) will be even more brilliant!
