Default Amd Hsf wont go on! HELP!

Hey guys, i cant for the life of me figure out how to put on the HSF that came with my Athlon 64 3000+ socket 939. One clip goes on and the other one wont. Iv applied force...but i'm afraid i'll break the cpu. Does anyone have any tips? I have AS5 on it and it's been smeared across the chip now :-S....anyways plz help!

These videos will teach you how to install the heatsink. Good luck.

Those are for the xp......not the 64's....lol.....I was there lookin too.......

So from what I understand, you can get one side on and then the other.....and that's perfectly ok?
The HSF already has little indentations in the corner from where it touched the chip as i was trying to put it on.

Just keep the HSF flat while securing the clips......you'll notice that one side of the clip has a "bent-around" shape to it above the catch......that will be the last side you'll install and that "bent-around" shape is so a flat-blade screwdriver will fit in so you can push down and secure the final clip.........just don't forget to apply your thermal paste prior to the install.......

I was about to suggest BA's method of using a 5lb rubber mallet (see post #11).
