Default DFI Ultra-D sata help

Today my Sata drives disappeared. I think it's the controller but windows doesn't see it and can't seem to find it. I have two sata drives hook up and they both work and I have tried switching cables. Also I can't seem to detect them in BIOS either anymore. Also I have tried three different BIOS's. I'm not real good at Hard drive issues so I was hoping some pimp would have the knowledge to fix this issue.

AMD 3000
DFI ultra-d (310 bios newest)
x800xl
1 gig of BH-5
80 gig IDE working fine
36 gig raptor and another sata drive work but can't be detected
Enermax noisetaker 470w
Windows XP

Try reverting back to the OEM BIOS it came with.

I have had that happen before....did your BIOS settings get set back to default some how. I am not sure about that mobo but when mine is set to default SATA support is turned off.

Sata is enabled in Bios. Also look at the pic below I don't think it's supposed to look like that.

possibly stupid suggestion #1:
Instead of clearing the cmos, instead use the failsafe defaults and then change the setting to turn on the controller on the bios....see if that helps.

possibly stupid suggestion #2:
You might also want to use a multimeter to check the drives and the cables your using regardless.

stupid question #1:
They are spinning up right?
stupid question #2:
Your computer hasn't been acting funny besides this problem has it? (restarts, BSOD, new hardware, new funky software)

I haven't used the multi meter by I did use another PSU. But the raptor does work in another system, so it's something to do with the Sata controller

They are spinning ( I can feel it and it gets warm but not hot, acting fine), this computer has been running great for a few months. Just today when I booted it up and opened my media player it couln't locate the music on the raptor. That's when I noticed.

Thanks for the help, I'm desperate any more suggestions out there?

Weird...It could just be that the sata controller died.

You can search a bit at DFI street and see if someone else has the same problem, I have had no issues with mine.

http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=22

I doubt you have access to one, but you could try a seperate controller card, they are like 20-30$ bux new.

A better bet would be to RMA it if the warranty is still in effect.

Thanks Solid, I think a RMA just might be my only option since I don't have a pci sata card adn don't want on in there. Look like I'll be on my LAN pc for a while. I do think it died since I have read about 30 pages at XS and another 40 at DFi street with no luck. If any body fins any news on this please post I'm very intersted on how it died.
