the DFI 939 boards are supposed to be good, ofcourse which one to choose is based on if you want the option of SLI or not.

Heard the DFI has alot of options and is somewhat of a PITA. If you want AGP go with a MSI Neo Platinum If yo uwant pci e go with ASUS if you dont wanna use BH 5. As for processor go with the Venice core 3500 is a good deal. I thought your ass was broke now your going and buying a new computer what gives?

what was your old comp? *thought* mmm.....evaporative die cooling.....

Unfortunately, I cannot echo the call for the Asus board. I have no idea what their engineering/design team has been smoking, but whatever it is, it's either highly toxic, or it's not what they think it is. Over the past 5 years, Asus products have been increasingly more problematic than most. DFI is good. Gigabyte is good. MSI is good. Abit works hard, but historically they're in the same ranks as what Asus is now, and Asrock. (i.e. avoid anything that begins with 'A') I haven't seen too much in the way of conclusive evidence for or against Abit, so to put it into perspective, I'd rate it on the same level as "junk bond".

i concur, I have a LanParty NFII and it rocks, I can only imagine from the reviews and my experience with this one what the 939 LP is like.
