ASUS A8V and 3200 Winny problem.

The nevster finally get an upgrade....then goes and spends 7 hours trying to get said upgrade to work. Here goes:

- ASUS A8V Deluxe BIOS 1006, Rev 2.00
- 3200+ Winchester AMD Atlhon 64, with stock HSF and AS5.
- 512/1024 crucial/infineon 2700 memory - tried both single/ dual channel, one or 2 sticks, without success.
- 5200 256
- no fans/ ide/ floppy/ perpherials connected.

I have tried:

- Reseting BIOS....at least 12 times, and made sure jumper is set back correctly.
- Removing non essentials
- Trying memory in all channels, slots, with no luck.

Symptoms are:

- NO sys speaker warnings, bleeps of any kind.
- NO P-hoe-ST, no floppy seek, and no CD drive loading when resetting
- Power LED on the mobo remains on suggesting there is power.
- Power LED and HDD LED on the case remain on constantly.
- KVM will not accept any keyboard control when switched to the system - keyboard function LEDs dim/ dont work suggesting a voltage inbalance? Can remove KVM if nessesary.

Any help would be great guys becuase im all out of ideas here, until my seller of said mobo and cpu gets online.

does it get pass the OS booting?

Try a different PSU. Looks like that could have been the problem.
MOBO might not be working, as all those symptoms point at the motherboard.

s'ok people everything is worling problem was ram layout - the board only accepts certain combinations out of the 4 slots. Finally got it. Thanks for the help
