Default SK8V and FX-53 Problems

I'm sure some of you must have heard about this, that the bios version 1001 of the SK8V is NOT compatible with the FX-53...well guess what happened to me? Powers up, all drives and fans are spinning...but no noise...POST, vocal messges, absolutely nothing! Is there ANYTHING I can do besides contact ASUS, because their offices have been closed, and I don't feel like waiting for weeks for them to send me a damned BIOS chip (which I am unsure how to remove and replace...intructions would be helpful). Is there any way to flash it myself besides Hot-Flashing, as I don't know anybody else with one of these boards...thanks in advacnce guys!

You can use another computer and go online and get the floppy disk flash utility and the bios rom and flash it that way.

If you cant post, you cant update the bios, you'll need to borrow a lower end CPU and use it temperarily, or get a 3000 or something, seeing as you can afford a fx53, you can afford a spare 3000 a64 and use it to update the bios, then add the fx53 back in.

did your system work prior to this? If so did you try to reset the Cmos? Try clearing the Cmos with the jumper or maybe leave the battary out for 2 mins an replace.. That might get it to post. because it will reset the Bios an put the cpu in abnormal operation an will lower the fsb or the muti down to safe mode.. an then Flash it..

thanks a lot guys, but I've just decided to call ASUS, who will reflash my chip for me. By the way, I did try clearing the CMOS yesterday to no avail, and I didn't feel like having to unglue my xp-120 from my FX just to flash the BIOS with an older chip, so I guess I'll just wait. You've all been helpful, thanks!

Well...the Arctic silver does stay awful sticky...I mean hell, I put some of it on my old processor 4 months ago, and it was still goopy when I took it off the other day!

Unhappy

BUMP! After waiting 2 and 1/2 weeks for freaking Asus to reflash my chip...it comes back...EXACT SAME PROBLEM! Honestly, they didn't mark what version they flashed my chip to, so honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even do it. But anyway...I was thinking of totally reseating the damned thing, but there's a screw in there that as I turn it, it just comes out a little, then goes "thunk" and kinda falls back into place. This rig was a christmas gift, and I haven't had a PC since christmas day (on the rents PC now), and it's frustrating to no end that everything just refuses to work for me. Any help is appreciated...

Problem: Asus SK8V FX-53 940 pin
No Post, no beeps, no bios, nothing.
No keyboard or mouse lights
Everything internally boots (light on MB, HD, CD drives, fans)
BOTH lights on front of chassis are solid (on, no changes)
New Bios chip IS in correctly
Have reseated anything besides ram, IDE, all AGP and PCI cards
Please help :-(

EDIT: I have removed and reseated EVERYTHING inside the chassis...still no post, nothing. PLEASE HELP
