Default What type of memory goes with this Mobo

I have recently received an asus a8n-sli deluxe mobo with an athlon 64 fx-55.

What kind of memory should I use for this system?

I kind of like this 1GB kit of Patriot ram for 219$

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...220-033&depa=0

Or PQI for a few bucks more (240$) both have Samsung TCCD chips inside

Would any of those help me reach my goal of overclocking the fx-55 to 3 ghz and more.
(i do plan on taking a visit to danger dens, hes only less than an hour away from me)

I was thinking about this one.

Luck of draw I guess with ram, all of the listed rams are TCCD which can get very high FSB if you loosen the ram timings.

Thumbs up

That ram is the ****z, and you can drop a lower multi and raise the FSB to reach 3 gigs.

My friend got an AMD FX-55 in this week...we are having fun as I type this.

Really helps if they're Brainpower PCB. TCCDs in the first Corsair release on standard PCBs sucked. 250 max with sloppy timings even.

Here is a listing of memory with the Brain Power PCB, the latest versions are doing even better these days with high voltage.

http://xtremesystems.org/forums/show...cd+brain+power

If you can find it, this DDR600 is supposed to run up to DDR720 speeds

So even though the a8n is a limit at ddr400 buying ddr600 will give me better overclocking ability?

I can only find this.
http://store.yahoo.com/digi4me/gsk25ddrpcp3.html

And its not a dual channel kit.

Wrong stuff - the timings on that G.Skill are 3-4-4-10 @ 600. 2.5-4-4-8 @ 600 is the REALLY good stuff.
