| Apex Master Tech | I installed a 9600 with 256mb ram on my computer and it ran fine for a day then i go to start it up and it gives me just long beeps repeating, beeeeep beeeeep beeeeeeep beeeeeeeep beeeeeep beeeeeep, always the same 1. then i reset it and it worked but someone in my family that used it said it would randomly shut off. cpu temps are ~30C. 512 ram, 350 psu 1 dvd drive 1 80gig hdd | |

| Repeating (endless loop) single beeps, assuming you have an Award BIOS, is a memory error. If you do not have an Award BIOS, check out the beep codes for your particular BIOS at www.bioscentral.com | ||

| Apex Master Tech Apprentice | Does that board have Asus POST reporter? IF it does, you might try clearing CMOS. This will turn on APR and maybe it'll tell you what's wrong. I had a repeating beep problem too, some time ago. It turns out the stick was dead. Maybe you static'd it when you installed the video card. Have you tried swapping the old one back in? | |
