Default Overclocking an Intel D850EMV2?

Is it at all possible? my current config is that mobo plus a 2.8ghz P4 400fsb and 768mb of Samsung PC800 RDRAM. Yes, I am ashamed, no need to remind me. But seriously, I've been wanting to OC this sumbitch for a while now but haven't been able to do much at all. any suggestions?

I doubt you will have much luck, Intel boards don't allow much in the way of adjustment in the Bios.

If you can find a program called "Soft FSB" you might be able to OC through software, but without being able to adjust voltage and other settings, I don't think you will get far.

Here is one review that mentions this problem, sorry we can't help ya..time for a new Motherboard!

Heh, well I was looking into an Asus P4T533 due to the fact that I don't want to just waste the huge investment I made in the RDRAM but it was a flippin' $150! I dunno about you, but I ain't spending that much on a 2 year old mobo. the intel was more reasonable at $50, though. so i guess it'll be another year with this old piece of sheit before i can afford a decent new rig.

Well, it's really a done deal at this point. besides, I couldn't find much in the way of Abit s478 RDRAM boards.

sell the ram on ebay, there are a lot of people who are looking for RD for servers, and you might get enough out of the ram for a new mobo.

Stock Intel motherboards are pretty much locked down as far as CPU, memory, etc. adjustments are concerned. I'd recommend switching to a new MB and ram or just let it be until you're ready for a new system.
