supermicro x5da8 problems with bootdrive

hey what up, im new to pimprig, but i think my rig is pretty mofoin pimpin, anyways, i just built it.

If someone has any experiance with the x5da8, i would really appreciate the help.

The problem is, i cannot write to my boot disk. Its not the harddrive itself which is the problem, ive switched it to non boot and written to it, so this leads me to belive there may be a jumper or something which controls boot drive write protection. Ive gone into the bios, and im at my wits end, its the only thing i can think of.

heres my hardware specs, note there is no os installed because of this problem:

case: Lian-Li PC70
sound card: Soundblaster audigy2 platinum
video editing card: DvStorm2 plus
3d card: Quadro4 980xgl
IDE HDDS: 2 120gig western digital w/ 8mb cache
SCSI HDDS: 2 73.4 gb ST373307LW
SCSI Raid: Adaptec 2010S zcr u320 raid card (running r0)
dvd-r: pioneer a05u
cd-r: liteon 48x
memory: 2 1024 mb ddr266 ECC
Motherboard: x5da8 by supermicro
CPU: Dual 2.8ghz xeons w/ 533fsb
Card reader: Internal 6:1 card reader
PSU: 460 watt

not even formatting works with the boot drive, and ive disabled write protect in the bios

i am basically stuck, and i was hoping to get windows on there this weekend, i added u to my buddy list thingy, so maybe ill be able to talk 2 u there

any ideas why the drive isnt workin?
