Asus k8v Se Deluxe

hey guys, ok i just went out and bought the asus k8v se deluxe mobo and i also got the ati radeon 9600xt 128mb. i have everything hooked up right and when i go to boot, i get no signal to my monitor. I was wondering if anybody could help me figure out whats going on.

Does the video card need to have a power plug plugged into it and if so did you do it?

i dont believe i need to plug nething in b/c everything is working on it ex. the cooling fan, but its wierd that everything seems to be working but get no signal to the monitor. II mean is that card compatible with the mobo or is the agp lot wrong.

Do you have a spare monitor or spare video card to swap & check if?

what i did was brought it into my school since im still a junior and tried different monitor there and also tried a different video card, so it might either be that its not compatiable or maybe the agp slot is bad
