Question Mobo S O U N D problem??!

SO i went home for thanksgiving. (away from college, my dorm, and my 4.1 logitec Surround Sound) i updated to the lastest nVidia mobo drivers for the abit nf7-s r2.0. i didnt know it then but when i got back to my dorm my wound was messed up... for some reason i nothing comes out of the back speakers when i play music. i use winamp to play music. when i go into a game like HL2 sounds comes out the back speakers......i cant understand this, when i go to the nvMixer i can get sound to come out of the back speakers useing speaker wizard. Not when i use winamp. I tried the newest winamp, 5.06 and it didnt change anything. does anyone have any ideas?????

Did you try rolling the nvidia drivers back to the previous version?

Did you also update the IDE drivers along with the latest chipset drivers?
And are you using the onboard sound?

I could be wrong (wouldn't be a first), but it sounds as if this issue started immediately after you updated the unified driver. Try reinstalling the unified driver, and/or try installing an older one and see if that works.

Yeah, but anything short of an Audigy 2 will not top Soundstorm in performance and clarity.

Completely remove the nForce drivers from Add//Remove Programs then install the excellent 6.14 Beta's.

Sorry guys, but I think you're wrong. I have ABIT nf7-s v.2.0 and it's a great mobo. Integrated music chip is excelent ( better than Live 5.1 digital), and I use to have the same problem. New or old drivers or program versions of Winamp is not the solution. It's very simple. i use nvidia unified driver v5.10 and Winamp v5.09.
Just go to options >preferences>output choose direct sound output v2.2.12 or else and important part go to configure choose NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio instead of Primary Sound Driver, and check the checkbox for Allow hardware acceleration, apply>ok and that's it. Maybe you need to restart or just stop and play again to take effects. Now play music on 4 speakers. Please answer to see if it works.
