Default RAM vs. CPU: FSB

Alright, I am piecing together my computer parts to make my dad a decent computer for him to use. My computer now has a 333mhz processor and PC2700, so the FSB match up. My question is: I only have an older AMD Athlon XP with a 266mhz FSB for PC2100; will this work with PC2700RAM even though the FSB's are different? I ask because I just need RAM for this system to be complete, and i can get a 512mb stick of 2700 for cheaper than 2100 (which would match the FSB). Thanks for your help!

PS. one more Q, didn't wanna start another topic. What is the audio lines on DVD and CD drives all about? What does it do? Worth it? Thanks again!

The PC2700 will downclock and match your processors bus speed automatically on most boards, if not you
can simply set it slower to match. You can probably drop the CAS down to 2 if it's decent CAS 2.5 PC2700, too.
