So ive been in training for the US Air Force and just got my cable hooked up yesterday. This would be the first time in six months ive have my own decent connection. Ok, so I'm updating all of my drivers and such and decided to use Asus update to flash my BIOS. Bad idea... everything went fine until it restarted. Now it wont post at all, and the ASUS tech told me to send in my BIOS EEPROM chip to get reflashed. Does anyone know how long it will take for them to flash it for me and get it back to me? better yet does anyone happen to have an extra chip lying around for that mobo?

the worst part about it all, is the fact that here at the base i am on, there is NOTHING to do this time of year. And my PC was my life....hehe... sorry yall, i dont mean to sound like a baby, but i had to vent somewhere.... any help would...er...help....thanks

If you cannot convince them to send out a new one for free, then just RMA the board to the retailer.
Abit has advanced me replacement chips free of charge with no return obligation, Asus should too.

alright, i will try to convince them to send me a new one..... For future reference though, is there anywhere a guy can buy a new chip from somewhere other than the manufacturer? thanks for the help

Other than the motherboard maker themselves the only place I've purchased BIOS chips from was BIOS
World but that was ages ago, the site is still active so they might have all the newer chips. LINK
