O.K., first we need to get some questions answered...

What kind of laptop do you have (make and model)?

What operating system (Windows XP, Windows ME, etc.)?

That's for starters...answer those and we'll go from there, o.k.?

Rob

Edit: BTW, you posted in the wrong forum category. Should have posted this in the "Other" category maybe. Just for future reference.

O.K., first off, what we need to do is to get to the display properties. To do that, minimize any and all programs that you have running on the desktop screen right now.

Once you see your desktop background image, right-click on your mouse and you'll see a menu pop-up. On that menu, select the option, "Properties".

This should open your display properties. Click on the tab labeled "Settings". Once you do that, you'll see a couple of options for your display settings.

You should see an option for "Color quality". This should be set to either 16-bit or 32-bit. If it isn't, go ahead and change it now.

Let us know what happens.

Right on Rob!

We just got new work PC's recently for some of our test stands, and no-one ever bothers to set them at 32 bit, drives me up a wall...and they can't tell the difference

I just dropped my color quality down to 16-bit medium setting and I did't get the same symptoms...
wonder if it is a driver issue, like he might be in VGA only mode?

We'll soon find out I guess...

I think he may talking about screenshots..if you are saving them as JPEG's they can loose some color quality, try saving as a Bitmap.

EDIT: OOPS..I was talking to Godfoot, his post is gone now
