RAM question

Just a real quick question.......I am upgrading RAM oon my freinds computer He has PC2700 (DDR333)
I need to know , how do i know if it is ECC or Non-ECC by using Cpu-z

Normally it's not ECC if you just bought the memory. You can tell when it boot's up if motherboard supports it. Also almost always it states on the ram with a sticker.

What kind of motherboard you got?

may seem like a noob question, what is ecc ram, and whats the diff between ecc and non ecc

ECC means Error Correction Code

It is only used on servers (Athlon FX's that use 940Pin motherboards is the only exception)

It basically checks for errors.
