| Running an ATX motherboard without ATX Power Supply ? I have bought a Nexcom EBC566 motherboard which is a 5.25" board but with a socket for an ATX power supply. However for my application I don't want to use a big bulky atx power supply and am trying to build my own. I have +5v. +12v, -12v, -5v and 3.3v all wired up to an ATX connector but when I plug it in the board, the fan starts and the LEDs light up but it doesn't go any further. I think I have have enough current on all the inputs and I don't see any voltage drop when I start it up. I have tested the board with an atx supply and no problem. I'm sure its something very simple but after several days I can't figure it out - does anyone know how to fool this board into thinking its connected to an atx supply.
thanks
