Intel D845WN Error

Hi, i just brouht a new processor and one thing that is, when i turn on my pc, i dont hear beebs and the monitor does not display anything what could be the problem. Can any 1 help pls???

What processor did you buy...the speed, those mobos can only handle a P4 2.2 or 2.4 off the top of my head because I have that model.

Those asking for specs would like MORE detail...tell us what your old processor speed was and what your current processor speed is. What did you do when you replaced the processor, did you unplug your power supply??? Things like this are usefull and can only assist us in assisting you!

Now that's a start, now please tell us what you did? How you did it? You might have done something wrong? Is is seated correctly, have you removed it and replaced it?

i had all the parts all i did is seat the cpu carefully into the socket. but i dont see anything wrong and i did remove it and replaced it

how bout some diag lights if youve got em or make sure your speaker is in right. or try a known good speaker.

the *first* thing you always check with P4's is the extra 4-pin power header...is it plugged in? That's in addition to the 20-pin ATX header. The wire from the power supply is yellow and black, and it's in a 2x2 configuration, not a 4x1 configuration.

That MUST be plugged in or you'll get nothing. Like you're getting now.

im trying to make the pc work but the problem is that the monitor does not display any thing

Like I said, if that 2x2 header isn't plugged in, you monitor won't work. Nothing will.

You said you checked, and it made 3 beeps...were they long or short, or a combination of both?
