Default Soyo KT333

I was wondering if anyone knew what the fastest ram that I could put into the KT333 was?? And does anyone have any clue as to how fast this board theoretically could run at?

i was just wondering, cause the ram i have right now is anything specail, it overclocks some and runs everything ok, but i was looking a some corsair XMS stuff and wondered, if i put PC3200 or something like that in it, will it run right, and will it give more room to overclock than pc2700

currently pc3500. all new ram is backward compatible.

so even if you had one of the original via kt 266 boards that ran pc 1600, you could slap pc 3500 in and it would work great ..... the ram would be severely under utilized, but it would work.

Similarily, you could always pc-133 in systems designed for pc-100.

PC2700 = ddr333
pc3200 = ddr400
pc3500 = ddr434

pc2700 will work fine, but if you want to overclock i'd go for the pc3200, but in either case look for a good quality brand, ram is not the place to skimp on the quality.

yeah i've figured out that you don't skimp on ram very quickly when i started overclocking. thanks for clearling that up.

Corsair is the best in my opinion.
My friend has the same system as me and he could not OC his becasue osf stability probs , thing was he was usi9ng Samsung RAM he bought Corsiar XMS and had no probs whatsoever.
IMHO Corsair, Crucial and OC, u can get it by clicking on one of PimpRigs banners and to shop @ then buy it there.

yeah, thats what i've been reading and noticing from everyone in this forum. Now if i buy this just i am going to want to cool it beyond that heat speader that comes with the sticks. I saw a liquid cooling site that had a thing that you could put on your ram so it was liquid cooled. Anyone got an idea on where something is???

liquid cooling on RAM is overkill by almost any means, even actively cooled ram is really pushing it, a good heat spreader or ramsinks, along with good case airflow is enough for anybody barring the most extreme overclocker

I do not think you will really need to cool it more than the heatspreader already does, but there are also Thermaltake active coolers( bascially heatspreader w/ fan on top) than you can also buy from one of the banners on PimpRig.com.

alright, i don't think i will buy some now, i didn't know that the heat spreader would be enough.
