Default I thought I would be on my new rig right now...

UGH!!!!

I finally get my processor and RAM from UPS on the 24th and my friggin' system won't start! So I started trouble shooting... CMOS, running the system lean, no RAM... hell, I even tried no CPU... no error tones or anything.

I take to a local AOpen distributor for testing... and it boots fine!!! Just not with any 533MHz FSB P4s! Damn!

So now it's on it's way back to Calif. for repair.... UGH!!! Sorry, just had to rant somewhere... the wife's sick of hearing about it.

On the bright side I now know that everything else runs awesome... We even OC'd the P4 2.4B and Corsair DDR3200 (You know, um, just to, errm, make sure... yeah that's it). Damn fast... I'll be real happy when I get my mobo back. Which better be soon as my antique I'm presently stuck with is becoming very close friends with the Grim Reaper!

So was your P4 CPU faulty, or some part of the board??

It was the friggin' mobo... couldn't run with the FSB at 533MHz like it's supposed to. (sigh)

I just hate it when crap like this happens to me... always something goin' wrong.

It's like my damned PocketPC... first one dies just outside of warranty... takes 'em 3 months to just ship me a replacement (which they were nice enough to do despite the warranty) now, after one month my new ones doin the same thing! They said they'd cover it... make me wonder if it's a known issue and they're just trying to keep it quiet.

I'm off to break something! (Something inexpensive, of course!)

I'd purchase your stuff from NewEgg.com, their RMA policy is outstanding (at least from my experiences)

I got everything but the case and the mobo from newegg and googlegear. Couldn't find anyone who carried that mobo back when I ordered it... the company I ordered from is supposed to be very easy to deal with too. I just had the mobo in the closet for three months.

Oh well, from the looks of things when we were running the tests I'll have one helluva system when I get the mobo back. You shoulda heard the techs ooh and aah when I brought in my tower... and when they hit the power and the CCFLs and LED fans light...... I can't believe they've never seen anything like that!
