Default Amd 2400+ Need Help

i got an AMD 2400+ and a ECS K7S5A mother board when i try to boot when its going 2400+ my windows wont start and it has a bunch of errors but when i turn it down to 1800+ it works just fine. i know that the motherboard is the right one for the processer cause my friend has the same set-up. PLEASE HELP i heard something about FSB coud that be it?

Yes John, are you somewhat proficient with a computer? What we need is the fsb setting, timing, and ram settings out of the bios. You get into it by pressing F2 when the comp boots.

if I recall right, ECS will help you for up to a 1900+ and I heard it caps at 2100+.... but that was awhile ago and christ knows the FSB didn't change from 2100 to 2400... So... It could be he got lucky and you got the shaft. :\

The 2400+ runs on 133fsb and 15x multiplier.

currently only the 2600+, 2700+ and 2800+ use the 166fsb.

I think I know what's up.

Bios updates from ECS

There is a BIOS update to enable support for XP2400 and XP2600 chips.

You just need to flash the bios. I have built several systems with
the K7S5A it's a good cheep board but it only accepts up to 2100+
with out bios flash, and to get too bios when system boots hit DEL key to get in to the bios.
