Default It wont boot!

I have an MSI KT3 Ultra2 mobo with an AMD 2100+, I installed a U.S Robotics Wireless PCI adapter in it and when I went to try to boot it up, nothing happened! No lights, no sound, no fans, NOTHING! So I pulled out the devil card, and it still wouldn't boot up. Anyone have any ideas? I am currently sitting next to a very expensive aluminum trash can, and I really need some help. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Have you tried re-booting?

(sorry)

You need to pull all extraneous cards and reboot. Get into your bios and go default. Then try to reboot. If you still have trouble, play discus with your mobo.

EDIT: Try another stick of memory, a different processor, etc...troubleshoot it.

you probably will have to clear cmos out. Might even have to pull proc out and then put it back in

LMFAO, you really are stupid. Look in the manual!!! Anyways I'll save you some time, there is a 3 pin jumper somewhere on the motherboard that has two modes. If the jumper cap is on pins 1 and 2 that means the jumper is open and you use the CMOS as normal, if the jumper cap is on pins 2 and 3 that means the CMOS is "shorted" and is then resetted. After resetting replace the jumper cap on pins 1 and 2 and continue to boot as normal. Sounds to me like:

A. Your computer might not be plugged in
B. Your a stupid ****
C. The PCI Card you just put in made your computer go **** itself and die
D. Your computer is ****ed beyond repair possibly.

ok if you can'tfind the jumper then just remove the battery for about 5min and then put it back in. If this does not work then take out the battery again and the ram and then put them back in.

A. My computer IS pluged in
B. I'm pretty sure I am not a stupid ****
C. The pci card did **** up my computer, thats why I'm here right now
D. I hope to hell my computer is not ****ed beyond repair.

use the jumper marked JBAT1,right next to the bottom-right fan header.unplug the psu, switch it off, move the jumper to pin 2&3.give it a minute, then return it to 1&2.
this will return bios to the factory settings(fsb@100 MHz as noted in another post).
it's page 2-27 in the manual.

Will pulling out the battery work the same as clearing out the CMOS?

Yes... The battery is there to support the CMOS in the event of loss of power. Hence, it's commonly refered to as the CMOS Battery.

Good Luck!

I had a similar deal happen with my MSI K 745 Ultra when I tried to overclock it. clearin' the CMOS cleared up the problem in my case.

In your case, if that doesn't work...

No lights+no fans= Probably dead Power Supply.

I had a PC with a dead PSU come across my desk the other day that literally exploded inside. Cheap PSUs don't seem to survive stress. Ya might give replacing that a shot before ya play "Taps" for your board!

LOL, I think we need to teach Oranges a few tricks of the trade. Here are a few:

1. Plug in the computer (Well youve atleast done this so far).
2. Press the button on the back of the PSU to the I, not the O.
3. We know more than you, LOL.
4. Try a new CMOS battery
5. Do As We Said Above
6. You might be trying to draw too much power from the PSU, Unplug some ****
7. What kind of PSU do you have?
8. Ummm I think thats it.
