I want to get one of these for Xmas, but I have a few questions.
I'm currently running a RAID 0 array (dual 40gb IBMs and a Promise PCI card), and I read that in order to use IDE raid you need an adapter for the SATA connectors (plug one device in to the IDE raid connector and the other HDD into a SATA port). However, I've also read you can use a dual device IDE cable and the one IDE port to connect the raid array with the HDDs in Master/Slave config. Which is right?
Also, I have a 1.4ghz Tbird and will probably want to
OC it sooner or later (planning on water cooling as well). I've heard the MSI
mobo is only a so-so OCer (which is fine, its all the features that I'm after). I'm curious about how future proof it is when it comes to CPUs though. It works with the current Athlon XPs, but what is the processor that is going to take the AXP's place? The Hammer? If the hammer does take its place, it will use a different socket type, right? Therefore this
mobo wouldn't be the best in terms of a new Hammer
CPU?
