best intel 2GHz cpu

hello everyone, this is my first post here.

i've been using amd cpus sinse the 200mhz. i'm thinking of building an intel based system. which is the best intek 2 GHz cpu (as far as fsb goes) and motherboard out right now?

i'm into gamein and just want an all around fast ass system. thanks for any input.

Welcome to PR Harry.

I have to research this a little Harry, but only if you are ata ll inteested in overclocking.

If you are not interested in overclocking your new, (still under waranty), P4, Then get a 2.0 Gig Northwood with 533 FSB.

As far as your Motherboard goes, I will let one of the other guys step in as I am not that big of an Intel guy these days.

you may even want to go faster then 2000 as intel cpus do not have as much power per cycle as amd ones. I am unsure on motherboards though.
