Default im an idiot

Ok ok i dont want to hear how thick i am i know already. Ok so i snaped a pin on my AMD 64bit 3000, so as i see it i have 2 options ahead of me. I can replace my CPU with the same thing OR, i can change to a new motherbored and CPU, this option apeals to me as it would be cheaper and at the moment the there is no real benifit to a 64bit system also id always planed on building 2 systems so when the the 754 platform becomes more mature i can get a new CPU and use it on my old Motherboared.

So what do you guys thing, i was thinking of an NF7 and barton but any other ideas.

I would go with an AN7. I just picked one up and I absolutely love it. It was $12 more than NF7-S. Alot of people refer to it as the 3rd revision NF7. If you have only have SATA you could also go with the new NF7s that are only SATA.

yanno, if it were me, and the cpu was beyond recovery anyway, i would at least attempt to, i dunno...re-solder the pin into place?

i can imagine the bottoms of those cpus look like a furry animal, so mebbie doing something like that isnt realistic at all?

push comes to shove, contact AMD and see if they can work with you to obtain a replacement?
