Default XP-M problems

i blew out my old 2600 233fsb so i decided to go mobile. i got my CPU and put it in and turned on my computer. well everything came on the light on my moniter turned green stayed their a few seconed then went yellow i took out my processor an started it again it did the same thing so i think it must be the processor. i don't think its bad. but is their anything i have to do to go from a normal XP to an XP-M?

wat mobo you got? I have a DFI AZ-30 TL that recognizes the new Duron A-Breds as Unknown CPU Type 1600+, maybe you're having BIOS issues.

were you overclocked any before you put your new processor in? If so reset your bios and try again on normal settings.

Always clear the CMOS on a new CPU...Stock FSB's are 133,166,200...not too sure what
233 you are talking about...where
you are starting at?

seems valid to me even if it is a little pricey compared to newegg's. just make sure that you clear CMOS and such. reseat your memory and gfx card. Can you boot up at all to even see if it says Unknown CPU and a speed? If you do end up sending it back a 2400+ mobile aor 2500+ mobile from newegg will save you money and newegg is reliable. www.newegg.com

well to reseat and such just pop it out and pop it in. make sur eu cleared the cmos correctly like putting the jumper on the 2+3 and unplugged the comp from the back. wait 5 to 10 minutes to regroup and pray. should be all set, at least get something.

Are you totally sure your other cpu died? It may sound like a mobo problem to me, perhaps even powersupply. try switching one or both of those out and see what happens. its all trial and error. i just recently went through replacing a shuttle AN35 and i went through all of those things just to determine ti was defective. RMA'd it right back to newegg for a prompt replacement and no fee.

just do a little tinkering, thattswhat being apart of pimprig is all about.
