Apex Techie I
Default abit nf7-m help

i just got this board to setup a server but now heres the prob.

it will keep locking up whenever it tries to load off of a cd or just freeze randomly and will never get to the install screen. but recently i was able to get windows installed after leaving it off for the night taking it out of the case. i put it back into the case after that was fixed and same problem again. so thinking it was the case, i took it out again, left it off overnight and it booted this morning. i was able to flash the bios to the correct version, install AIM and install ut2k4. but after all that, i did another reboot and bam, it will freeze at the xp welcome screen. sometimes it will freeze jsut at boot. now i cant even see anyhting when i boot it up. i'm using an agp vid card but same thing happens when i use the onboard vid. specs are

nf7-m
athlon xp 1800+
256 pc2700 geil ram (have another stick but using one just to see if the damn thing will boot)
tried 350w antec psu, sparkle 320w psu, and achieve 500w psu. the antec seems to be the one working most of the time for it.

any ideas?

sounds like a mobo with power regulation issues, get it replaced...only after trying all the non-onboard stuff thats plugged into it in a different system...
