Default Oh Lordy! (NF7 problem)

I just installed my nf7 board, and it was giving this harsh beepbeepbeepbeep (quick and repetitive, no pattern just a solid line of beeps), I hit the reset button and it gave the same beeps, only engaged the video so I could see it had a floppy drive error.

I had no floppy drive.

So I put in a floppy drive, and it gave an 'insert system disk' error. I figured, "ok, i just put the cable in backwards". Try it that way, still no dice.

Now it's going BEEP (same duration as your standard post beep), a two second pause, and then the same BEEP. Again and again. No video.

Any ideas?

yeah, I'll give that a go. I'm on my laptop right now (thank you Dell) so I'll update if that works.

update:

still no dice, and the beep doesn't show up on the beep code chart. I'm going to try putting the ram in different sockets (it's DIMM2 and DIMM3 for dual channel on the NF7, right?) and see if it helps anything

update 2:

put the ram in DIMM1 and DIMM2. Posted at 3200+ speeds without a hitch.

now I've just gotta hook my hdds back up and boot the sucker.

got it all running, only 51C idle and I had to push it up to stock power.

I'll cut some vents tomorrow and remount the heatsink, should be fun.

_Only_ 51C?

What chip are you running in there? And what heatsink?

(I'm running an XP2800+ at stock settings & get 27C idle & 41C full load off 21C ambient).

just looked closer and he did say 51c idle! i thought he meant load meaning it was overclocked a good amount. yeha man check up on those temps, im 50C load with a 2500+ mobile at 2.8 ghz on air. 38C idle. slk947 treats me like a god with a 92mm tornado on it. from what ive heard the slk-900 is even better, check them out, will probably help you out dramatically.
