I dont own one myself, but to keep the thread alive all i can tell you go step by step according to the manual for the mobo and the speakers. Then open up the sound software that came with the mobo and make sure your setup correctly for your speakers.

thanks....i'm beyond the manuals (logitech's provides little or no help). i've got sound, just can't get all 6 spkrs to work properly...oh well, trying new drivers....but, on the bright side:
ALL problems i was experiencing with neverwinter nights seem to have been fixed by switching from asus a7n8x-x mobo to the abit nf7s (thanks for the EXCELLENT advice pimps!).

Ensure your audio connectors are connected to the proper ports.
And more importantly, that the Chipset Drivers are installed.

I've got an NF7 rev 2 (same as the NF7S but w/o SATA), like a lot of these boards (apparently), the black & orange audio sockets are wired up backasswards ... to get all my 5.1 speakers working I had to swap the two relevant leads around (orange plug to black socket, black plug in orange socket, green -> green)
Might be worth a try

As an owner of an the Z-640's and a preious owner of several NF7-s's i can ell you are going to have to switch the orange and the black around to get the sound to work right. there backards on the 640's for the Rear and C/Sub....

EDIT: AAARRGGHHH!!! you beat me to it.....but at least it confirms what we said!

I am sure it was a problem with the NF7, not the speakers.

My buddy was troubleshooting that exact problem with the NF7-s and Z640s.
I took my tower over to his place, and the speakers were fine on my machine (I think it was the SB Live 5.1 at the time).

Anyhow, switching orange and black is the fix either way.
