| ok, purchased the abit nf7s rev.2 finally have it installed. owner's manual reccomends (in the troubleshooting section) that i clear the cmos b4 initial boot up. is this really necessary, and, if so, why? Last edited by droeblek9; 04-July-04 at 01:19 PM.. Reason: misspelling | ||

| The owners manual says this because it doesnt know if you bought the mobo new or used. So the person that owned this mobo before you could have had that bitch overclocked all to hell, and you drop in your cute little 1700 barty and bam. TOAST... Since its new you should be straight though. | ||

| or instead of posting, u could have just cleared it and been runnign in the time it took you to post this thread. might be to get rid of info on the test components use? i dunno i knwo gigabyte tests each mobo for 48 hrs with a full system, i dunno if abit dose the same. problem solving skills! | ||
