Default arctic silver tinting cloth

the arctic silver instructions on their page say to use a lintless cloth such as an eye glass cleaning cloth to tint the heatsink. what do you guys use to tint the heatsink beside the cloths?

oh oops, meant what to use to clean . ..
Clean the mating surfaces completely with a low residual solvent (High-purity isopropyl alcohol or acetone will work) and a LINT FREE cloth. (i.e. lens cleaning cloth)

and again after tinting it with the plastic baggie
Re-clean the heatsink surface with a LINT FREE cloth

Dude just rub it down with a regular clean rag or something - then hit it with a bit of compressed air to blow any possible lint off. Almost everyone has a can of compressed air.........

yeah, guess i'll just try the compressed air. well since that seemed like it'll work fine, i'll get to work on them.

anyways, what other cloths are lint free?

An old sock to clean, yes it does work well. Compressed air to remove lint and then a PCI cover bracket to apply the AS5.

I posted this in another thread, but....
One-use medical alcohol wipes work great for cleaning heatsinks, though if you can find them, adhesive remover pads or nail polish remover pads come in the same packaging and work for tougher goops like thermal epoxy. The little pad is a lint free cloth. Use it up and throw it away.

Edit: Oh, and I use a credit card trimmed down to size for applying TIM. Both items fit nicely into a small tool pouch.
