Yes, throw that flaming ball of flame at me and after you do help me out.

Okay, so here's the deal ...

AMD 2600+ on that board. Corsair pc2700 and some other crap.

After figuring out that the FSB needs to be doubled, I set the jumpers. The ram was in slot 1 and everything else was connected.

So the boot up came and beep beep memory not wanted .. shut off. I know the memory is ok, is the board fried/screwed/have to get an asus?

any help would be appreciated.

For one have you tried resetting the jumpers, and CMOS?
second, why did you think that you needed to "double the FSB"?
3, the XP2600 is a 166 bus chip, if you had ddr333 ram you were with in spec already.
4.) Asus isn't the board i'd get....NF7-S Cheaper/better OC'er
1/5th put some more thought in your posts, you sound kinda arrogent (i know the spelling is wrong). and being a little more descriptive helps, like mobo manufacturer and such.....

Exactly what I would ask/say.

I have this exact board so I get to be the expert. If you set the FSB jumper on the board higher then your proc is rated, it shouldn't even boot at all. I did that and it just wouldn't boot. Are you trying to set the jumper to the 166 FSB setting? Or are you trying to overclock? In the instance you are overclocking, you are SOL because the ECS board has no Vcore adjustment or anything, the only way to overclock is thru upping the FSB in BIOS. Since their is no Vcore adjustment, the board runs the Proc at a low voltage, stable, but, no headroom for any overclocking. It set my Vcore to 1.58V, again non-adjustable, and my system became unstable already at a 171 FSB.

Do what I'm doing and plan to just buy a new mobo in either case if you are overclocking or if you fried your board or if it just turns out to be fine anyway, the ECS KT600A is trash.

Thanks everyone, sorry for coming off arrogant, I was just a little frusturated last night.

I had doubled the FSB because I saw on newegg hat the manual was wrong and that was needed to be done.

The board is bad, we're gonna return it w/ the processor and get an Intel.

Thanks again for all your feedback.
