You are trying to use an AT PS with an ATX mobo. That's why the connectors are different.

I would like more information on your system, and please use sentences so we can understand you.

I have tested a power supply out of a PC before by shorting two pins of the connector out with a paper clip. I now test ALL power supplies this way before I even assemble a computer. I have the diagram printed out at home but if you search you will find it online easily.

If it isnt your PSU then I would suspect that JUNK ASS motherboard your using. Even though it HAS served you well doesnt mean it will continue to - it may have just died.
